This business disrupts the railway industry by providing real-time railway infrastructure monitoring systems. This tech company has obtained valuable worldwide patents for its innovative technology. The system provides monitoring, predictive maintenance, improved safety and efficiency to increase railway network capacity at a significantly lower cost. The system is a passive real-time rail monitoring system identifying any problems within the railway infrastructure, such as broken rail, rockslide and mudslides, flooding, people and or animals on the track, damages to trains and preventing more than 1 train on the track at the same time. The solution requires small, unobtrusive system installations, with low power consumption (existing grid power, solar, wind or battery powered solutions), and the systems incorporate machine learning and improves over time as it is used. Savings can reach 90% of annual maintenance costs. The company was awarded with an EU Grant of €3M in 2020.
Size and impact
Estimated annual global rail maintenance spend is in excess of 120 billion Euros. The company has recently obtained a number of signed contracts with a value of over €150 million globally. The number of contracted projects and the growing sales are increasing each week. The current pipeline status shows potential contracts worth over €32M, excluded the already signed contracts with a value of €150M. The company will soon have installations in every continent of the world as the global roll out continues. The total potential in India alone is worth €2,5 Billion. Besides high growth and profits, the company has a sustainability influence on the environment. The EU has calculated a reduction in carbon footprint by 8.3 million-ton CO2 per year if 10% of the tracks in Europe are installed with the company’s technology.
